Under-13s
slump to first defeat of season. End of Play from Langloan: Drumpellier Under-13 XI: 69 All Out Greenock Under-13 XI: 70-3 In what was to be an interesting match, the Under-13 team slipped to their first loss of the season to a strong Greenock Cricket Club. Darren Macey and Fraser Hamilton went in to open up on a wicket which swung towards the end of the innings. Macey managed to rack up 6 before skittled. Fraser then went on to pick up a solid total. At the 9th over the score was 40-2. Wickets then started flying. With the loss of the two openers, Jordan Pryde and Ross Hill were then sent to the crease. Pryde managed to stick around with the help of Hill, Nick Pyne and Humzaa Sabri. Ross then being caught behind to what was a good display of bowling. The long tail end was then dispatched, adding on just 29 to the total, with wickets falling all over the shop. Drumps then went out to field. Pyne and Sabri opened the bowling with Darren Macey keeping wicket. The innings was opened with a two maiden over bar two byes. Drumps could take something from the wicket though as Nick grabbed a wicket, bowling the opener. It then took another five overs for the next wicket to fall, to the bowling of Sabri, then Harry Javidan then grabbed a wicket which proved to be the third of three wickets to fall. The Langloan team could take something from the game though, as the team was not at full strength. Joel Muir, Nathan Allison and Rhys Marybole to name the absentees, with the Drumps fielding a ten-strong team. Drumps Team: Darren Macey(+), Fraser Hamilton, Nick Pyne, Jordan Pryde(c), Ross Hill, Andrew Robertson, Grant Russell, Humzaa Sabri, and Ben. The Under-18 Match on Monday, 8th June was cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. The Under-18 Match on Wednesday, 10th June was cancelled due to insufficient players. |
